Jon Stewart crushed Jim Cramer in their head to head battle over financial manipulations in the media.

Stewart shocked people with an indepth not for laughs questioning of Cramer and had Cramer reeling by the time it was over.

According to some this may be the beginning of a new era in reporting. Our national media has sucked so long that it is taking a comedian to show them the path. The media let GWB off with patsy questions and could have been instrumental in not allowing Iraq to occur. Enron could have been caught had reporters been made up of the stuff that Robert Woodward was when Nixon was around.

The media has been so intent on producing what they think people want to hear that they have forgotten to produce the news. There is a world out there and we are stuck with patsy stories about rediculous things. The is no excuse for the total lack of investigative reporting thast should have been occuring while Bush lied his way into Iraq, Enron and Global Crossing were collapsing, the people of California were being overcharged for their power by vast amounts.

Personally, I think the news media should lose the right to be on the air if they cant perform up to a reasonable set of standards in reporting actual news. the media is our check and balance on government, if it is not working, we are not informed. For gods sake, the last thing I want to do is let my government be the one who tells me how it is doing

The two ended up as friends, or on a friendly basis.
